  Named in the Kobe committee's list of persons who left Japan for Shanghai and Harbin in the month of May 1941 (JDC Archives). Rozenfeld Chil, Polish, sailed from Kobe for HARBIN on 24 May 1941. He is the only Chil among the register's Rozenfeld and Rosenfeld lines, and the Kobe relatives list gives Sosnowiec, aged 25.

  The Jewish birth register of Sosnowiec for 1916, held by the State Archive in Katowice and indexed in Geneteka by the Polish Genealogical Society, records a Chil Rozenfeld, the only child of that name born in the town between 1912 and 1918. The Kobe community's list of refugees gives Sosnowiec as his birthplace and an age that puts his birth about 1915, so the town and the year agree with the register entry, not the name alone.
