Where this comes from
HaBoker, HaTzofe, Omer and Haaretz, 19 September 1941 (National Library of Israel, Historical Jewish Press) Bolesław (Berek) Sztrauch reached Bombay on the way from Japan to Palestine. On 19 September 1941 the Tel Aviv papers HaBoker, HaTzofe and Omer printed a telegram from the committee of Polish-Jewish refugees listing 'these Polish refugees, immigrants to the Land of Israel', whose address at that time was Cook's office in Bombay; the name is on it. The archive attaches it because the list is one of the refugees on the Sugihara route, the name occurs once on the register, and the place and date fit (National Library of Israel, Historical Jewish Press).
The Kobe relatives list — refugees at Kobe in 1941 recorded with their relatives abroad. Seventy-six pages in numbered sheets (LIST No. 7, No. 16 and others), each line giving a name, age, birthplace, occupation and citizenship, and then… The Kobe community's list of refugees and their relatives abroad has Berek Sztrauch, born in 1901 at Jendrzejow. Sugihara's ledger writes his given name Boleslaw; the list has Berek, the other name the compilers give.
