The register has him as Karlinski, Zelman or Kalman, 39, a journalist, going to Canada. The trade agrees exactly, the age is one year on, the destination agrees, and the manifest supplies a third form of the given name, Kielman, alongside the two the register already held. Detained on board at Seattle on 7 July 1941 and identified the next day.
