This Commonwealth of Australia Application for Admission of Relative or Friend to Australia was filed by Dr. Maurycy Szprut of Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Waratah, NSW, to bring relatives of Polish nationality and Jewish faith to Australia. The nominees include Mojzesz Aljona Margolin (born 1904 in Warsaw, described as a refugee), his sister Fajga Margolin (Szprut, born 1918), and Michal Margolin (born 1939), who were then present in Kobe, Japan. Their presence in Kobe indicates they had escaped to Japan, a common destination for Sugihara/Zwartendijk visa recipients transiting via Tsuruga.

Certificate of Polish citizenship No. M-208, issued to Mojzesz-Szloma Margolin by the Legation of the Polish Republic at Kaunas on 31 July 1940. Issued in place of a passport book: the printed text states that it is granted for want of p… The certificate gives the double given name Mojzesz-Szloma exactly as the register has it, and a birth date of 29 May 1904 that agrees with the register's age of 36 in 1940. He is recorded as married, and the register pairs him with No. 745, whose own certificate was issued by the same Legation. One difference is worth setting down: the certificate gives his trade as bookkeeper, where the register records him as a merchant.
