Izkor — the fallen of the Jewish Brigade and of Kfar Etzion, read 18 October 2026 Izkor, the Israeli Ministry of Defence's memorial to the fallen, gives his life: born at Stolpce in 1919, son of Ida and Eliyahu, a Betar leader who escaped from Vilna and reached the Land of Israel by way of Japan and India. He enlisted in the British army and served in the Jewish Brigade in Italy; on 15 March 1945, returning from a patrol, he was accidentally shot in the leg, and he died of his wounds in hospital at Ravenna on 21 March 1945. The year of birth agrees with his age on the register, and the route with the list of immigrants from India. (Izkor, read 18 October 2026.)
