Archive note, 30 August 2026 — a correction to the Kobe attributions. Thirteen register entries had been matched to two lines each of the Kobe refugee register, on the strength of a similar surname. In seven cases the two lines described… This entry had been given Kobe entry 101 as well as entry 217. Entry 101, on page 3, is ULAKIEWICZ Szasa, aged seventy-one, of Goworowo. The register has a physician of twenty-nine. Entry 217, on page 63, is POLAKIEWICZ Szamaj, born 1911 at Warsaw, with a brother in Chicago and an uncle at Utica — thirty years old in 1941, and the line that remains.
