  Pinchas Hirschprung reached Canada and settled in Montreal. By 1945 he had published there a Yiddish memoir of his flight, from the Lublin yeshiva through Lithuania and across Russia to Japan. On 1 April 1945 the New York Yiddish daily Der Morgen Zhurnal reviewed it under the name 'Rabbi Pinchas Hirschprung, Montreal, Canada' (National Library of Israel, Historical Jewish Press).
