A Lithuanian passport bearing a Japanese transit visa issued at the Consulate of Japan in Kaunas (Sugihara consulate). The holder, J. Pomeranc, born 5 December 1895 in Vilnius, was permitted transit through Japan, evidenced by the Japanese entry/transit stamps including one at Tsuruga (Fukui) dated Showa 15 (1940). A family photograph appears on the document.
