  Named in the Kobe committee's list of persons who left Japan for Shanghai and Harbin in the month of May 1941 (JDC Archives). The document enters BRONET MINIA, Polish, sailing from Nagasaki for Shanghai on 2 May 1941 aboard the Shanghai Maru. The consular ledger's family note against this line records only 'wife Minja (28)' — a forename in a margin. This is the first document the archive has found that writes her out with a surname of her own.
