The register's compiled line gives 1886, and the two agree. The name occurs once on the register, and a Polish-born passenger landing at San Francisco in 1940 fits the route through Japan, so the entry is taken as this person's under the archive's rule of 19 September 2026 for records from the route.

  The manifest sheet itself has the whole family on the Asama Maru, which sailed from Yokohama on 4 October 1940 and reached San Francisco in the middle of the month: Szoel J. L. Taub, aged 54, married, a rabbi, reading Polish and Yiddish, born at Ożarów in Poland, with his wife Bruncha-Estera, 43, and their children Sara, 16, Israel, 14, David, 10, born at Otwock, and Hirs, 3, born at Otwock, each on a non-quota immigration visa of 3 July 1940, his numbered 1. The register's line gives a wife Brucha Estera of 43 and children Sara 16, Izrael 14, David 10 and Hirs 3, which is this family to the year; the Vilna refugee list on this page has him come from Otwock.
