The register's compiled line gives 1895, and the two are 1 year apart. The name occurs once on the register, and a Polish-born passenger landing at Los Angeles in 1941 fits the route through Japan, so the entry is taken as this person's under the archive's rule of 19 September 2026 for records from the route.

  Wolf Blattberg was born at Kraków on 16 January 1896, at 1 St Agnes Street, the son of Leib Blattberg and Lea Landau, according to the Jewish birth register of Kraków, which enters him under his mother's name as Landau Wolf, also Wilhelm — the registers' practice for the children of a marriage made before a rabbi but not before the state. The register's compiled age of 45 in 1940 is within a year of it, the Kobe list gives Kraków as his birthplace, and the father's surname is his.
