What is known

What became of the family left behind, as the son has published it: Rabbi Abram Wyszkowski (No. 413) escaped with his elder son Chaskel, then a boy of ten; his wife MALKA BINA and his younger son YISROEL stayed in Warsaw and were trapped in the ghetto in 1940. They did not survive — the memoir names them with the Hebrew abbreviation H"yd, 'may God avenge their blood', the family's own statement that they were murdered in the Shoah; the publisher's description says the author was 'separated from his mother and younger brother, HY"D, during the Nazi blitzkrieg of Europe'.
