Where this comes from
The Kobe relatives list — refugees at Kobe in 1941 recorded with their relatives abroad. Seventy-six pages in numbered sheets (LIST No. 7, No. 16 and others), each line giving a name, age, birthplace, occupation and citizenship, and then… The Kobe community's list of refugees and their relatives abroad: born 1901 at Lwow; relatives abroad: S. Wajsman, 320 B 176th Street, New York City.
The JEWCOM register — the refugee register kept by the Refugee Committee of the Jewish Community of Kobe (Ashkenazim) at No. 6 Yamamoto-dori, 1-chome, whose cable address was 'JEWCOM Kobe'. Eighty-four pages on the committee's own printe… Entry 47 of the Kobe Jewish Community's refugee register: aged 40, born at Lwow, a lawyer, who travelled from Vilnius.
The Jewish birth registers of Lwów, 1900–1924 (Archiwum Główne Akt Dawnych, zespół 300), as indexed by archival.name Adolf Binderman was born at Lwów on 30 June 1901, as Adolf Jakób, the son of Salomon Binderman, a sergeant in the Austrian army, and Chaya, also Klara, according to the Jewish birth register of Lwów. The match rests on more than the name: the Kobe community's list gives this line the same birth year and birthplace. (Read on archival.name's index of the Lwów births; the register is in the Central Archives of Historical Records, Warsaw.)
HaMashkif, 15 September 1941 (National Library of Israel, Historical Jewish Press) A possible record, not yet confirmed as this person: in September 1941 the Revisionist movement's secretariat for Poland, in Tel Aviv, asked an Adolf Binderman to get in touch (HaMashkif, 15 September 1941) (National Library of Israel, Historical Jewish Press); the notice does not say where he was, so it is shown as a lead.
