The Far Eastern Palestine Committee's list of Jewish refugees in Shanghai, printed by the Jewish Agency Search Bureau's bulletin La-karov ve-la-rachok on 21 March 1946, lists Janusz Buki: born at Plock, a lawyer, who arrived in 1941 from Vilnius by way of Siberia, with his wife Janina, born 1903. His town and trade and his wife's name and year agree with the register and the Kobe list; the list gives his own birth year as 1894, four to six years later than the other records. The Canadian Jewish Heritage Network's index of the Jewish Immigrant Aid Services (JIAS) Montreal client cards, read on 24 October 2026, has a card for Janusz Buki that names his spouse as Janina. The register's Janusz Buki, a lawyer of 50 bound for Canada, has a wife Janina (No. 310), and neither name occurs twice on the register. Two facts tie the card to him: his given name, which no other Buki on the register carries, and his wife's name, which the register gives at the next line. The index gives the names and a file number only; the card itself is closed under privacy law.
