Nine passengers, all nine detained on arrival by Immigrant Inspector Raymond H. B… Line 6 of the sheet, directly below his brother. LICHTENBAUM, MIECZYSLAW, 51, male, single, clerk; reads English, Polish and German and writes; Polish nationality, Hebrew. The register has him as Mieczyslaw Lichtenbaum, 50, a customs broker and chauffeur, brother of No. 305, going to Canada - and No. 305, Wladyslaw Lichtenbaum, is the line above him here. The given name agrees, the age is one year on from a list compiled in 1940, and the brotherhood the register records from the Kaunas end is what the manifest shows from the Seattle end: two Lichtenbaum men travelling together, on consecutive lines, nine and ten months later. Detained on arrival by Immigrant Inspector Raymond H. Bank with all nine on the sheet and identified the next day by Immigrant Inspector Albert Wolstenholme.
