The register's compiled line gives 1902, and the two agree. Benjamin Bursztyn, a 38-year-old teacher from Łomża, came to San Francisco on the Nitta Maru early in 1941 with his wife Czarna and their son, their passage paid by the American Federation of Labor, according to the passenger manifest held by the US National Archives (FamilySearch's copy). The trade, the wife's name and the son are what the register's compilers recorded for him.
