  The HIAS Shanghai registration (Arolsen Archives, 3.1.1.3, unit 19532) lists Moses Horowitz, a merchant born in 1905 in Kraków, with his wife Adele, born in 1900 in Mielec, and their two young daughters, who reached Shanghai from Vilnius by way of Siberia in November 1941. A HIAS list of departures (Arolsen Archives, 3.1.1.3, unit 19613) records Mojżesz Horowitz with Chaja and the two girls leaving Shanghai for the United States on the General Gordon on 8 January 1947. The list reads: entry 3081, Arolsen 3.1.1.3/78796911 (unit 19532): "HOROWITZ Moses, 1905 Kracow, Polish, merchant; wife: Adele, 1900 Mielec; children: Dina, Bela; Nov. 41 from Wilna, via Sibiria; Szmuel Szczedrowicki c/o S.   The Agudath Israel organisation of refugees from Poland in Shanghai listed Mojzesz Horowitz among its members on 24 December 1945: born in 1905 in Krakow, Polish passport No. 392/729/32/VIII/41 issued in Tokyo on 9 August 1941, with his wife Chaja Ajdla, born in 1900 in Dombrowa, and their two daughters.
