He named his wife, Helena Dajles of 28 Nalewki, Warsaw, as his nearest relative there; his final destination is entered as going to Canada, and he was going to a friend, G. Lifschitz of 3789 Dunbar Street, Vancouver. He paid his own passage and showed $180, by some way the largest sum on the sheet. The register carries him under three spellings - Dajlies, Dajles, Dales - with the given name Jankiel, aged 40, a merchant, going to Canada. The manifest spelling is one the register already anticipated; the age is a year on, as it should be; and the destination agrees. Detained on board at Seattle on 7 July 1941 and identified the next day.
