  Moses Piwowoz, a student of the Mir yeshiva, was listed among the Jewish refugees in Shanghai. In 1946 the Jewish Agency's Far Eastern Palestine Committee sent its list of refugees in Shanghai to the Search Bureau for Missing Relatives in Jerusalem, which printed it in its bulletin, La-karov ve-la-rachok. The entry reads: Piwowoz Mojszesz, born 1918 at Pinsk, a student, reached Shanghai in 1941. The archive attaches the entry because the list is one of refugees on the Sugihara route, the full name occurs once on the register, and the birthplace, the student's calling and the date fit the Kobe relatives list (La-karov ve-la-rachok, Jerusalem, 3 October 1946, National Library of Israel, Historical Jewish Press).
