A tracing file opened by the International Tracing Service in 1972 records Ester Ickowicz, born Mordkowicz at Jędrzejów on 15 April 1905: in 1939 she fled to Wilno, went from there across Russia and by sea to Japan, then by way of Shanghai, Calcutta and Bombay, and in 1942 by the ship Rizwani to Cairo. In 1972 she was living in Tel Aviv.
